Greetings, and welcome to our bulletin full of information on exciting Russian events!
This issue contains a round-up of Russian or connected to Russia events in Scotland and throughout the rest of the UK in the month of July and job vacancies and announcements.
RCS Haven is welcoming anyone who is interested in studying Russian language, literature and culture. We have English and Russian language lessons. There are a library, Art studio for children and Web-design Studio.

Also, the Centre provides consultations in law, finance and other aspects of work and business in Russia and Britain.
News
The Haven Centre Russian language school is preparing for its classes for the next academic year. Due to the school’s desire to achieve accreditation by the SQA and Rossotrudnichestvo a greater number of classes will be run this year. More testing for new learners will also be put in place to meet the requirements for accreditation.
Staring from the end of August, the school will run:
- Two groups run taken by Larisa Zotova which meet the criteria for the primary school education of Russian primary schools abroad.
- Two groups run taken by Victor Konovalova which are taught according to the program for the middle level of Russian education programme abroad.
- Preparation for SQA examinations.
- The Russian language club for students who are studying Russian as a foreign language.
- The Music and Play club for parents and toddlers (between 1 and 2 years of age.
- Classes for the early development of 2-3 year olds.
- Pre- school preparation in reading and writing for 3-5 year olds.
Alongside our academic program of Russian Language classes, we will also be holding art activities.

Art studio for Children
Art lessons for children are undergoing in RCS Haven.
Under supervision of experienced teachers, a professional artist and a specialist in early development, children study the basics of drawing and painting, language development and drama. All children are welcome on Wednesdays from 5pm till 7pm.

Rosa Newmarch (1857-1940) was a well-known musicologist and activist with various organizations like The Society of Women Musicians. She wrote world famous: books, articles, concert notes for Prom concerts and for the New Queen’s Hall Orchestra, DNB entries and Letters. However, what interests the most is her role in promoting Russian music, Russian art and poetry in Britain.
