 Greetings, and welcome to our bulletin full of information on exciting Russian events.

RCS Haven is welcoming anyone who is interested in studying Russian language, literature and culture. We have English and Russian language lessons. There are a library, Art studio for children and Web-design Studio.
Also, the Centre provides consultations in law, finance and other aspects of work and business in Russia and Britain.

Regular events in Scotland

Orthodox Church Services:
The following Scottish churches hold regular/semi-regular Orthodox services (all welcome):
Glasgow: The Parish of St. Kentigern (Russian Orthodox). Services held in Govan Old Church, 866 Govan Road, Glasgow, G51 3UU.
Edinburgh: Orthodox Community of St. Andrew (a mixture of Orthodox faiths. Services held in the Chapel of St. Andrew, 2 Meadow Lane, Edinburgh, EH8 9NR.

Art studio for Children
Art lessons for children are undergoing in RCS Haven.
Under supervision of experienced teachers, a professional artist and a specialist in early development, children study the basics of drawing and painting, language development and drama. All children are welcome on Fridays from 5:30pm till 7:30pm.

For this first Thursday event in the gallery we present an evening full of rhymes and rhythms from around the world: a unique poetic happening amidst Eduard Bersudsky's marvellous mechanical sculptures.

9 November, 7.30pm
Russian Orthodox Church music on Remembrance Sunday.  The main item in the programme is Kastalsky's Requiem for Fallen Brothers, composed during the First World War as a memorial to Allied soldiers who died in the course of it. The Requiem draws on funeral music in the Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Anglican traditions. We perform it with the composer's accompaniment arranged by Graham Hair for a quintet of string instruments. We are joined by the Aurea Quartet with Kirsty Matheson (double bass). Glasgow University Memorial Chapel, Glasgow, G12 8QQ. Admission free. The concert is sponsored by the Centre for Russian, Central and East European Studies in the University of Glasgow.

A photographic exhibition featuring the elaborately tattooed bodies of Soviet-era gangsters. The photographs were taken by criminologist Arkady Bronnikov from the mid-1960s to mid-1980s to assist with the identification of suspects and corpses.
