Greetings, and welcome to our bulletin full of information on exciting Russian events.
 
We hope that you have had a peaceful, relaxing Christmas, and are looking forward to the start of another year. 
 
RCS Haven is welcoming anyone who is interested in studying Russian language, literature and culture. We have English and Russian language lessons. There are a library, Art studio for children and Web-design Studio.
Also, the Centre provides consultations in law, finance and other aspects of work and business in Russia and Britain.

NEWS

The classes will resume after the winter holidays on the 11th January at 11 AM at the new address:
Because of the school expansion, as well as following the results of the ongoing achievements monitoring, the additional class is being formed that will follow the new "Bukvarionok" education programme.
The school's schedule is also changing. All the classes except the youngest will now be between 11 AM and 2 PM.
The programme is fixed for the first two hours, while for the third hour the child stays in the school but may choose the class to attend.
The classes to choose from are social science, eurika, art class, eurhytmics and carate.

On the 26th January the RCS Haven's Russian School will participate in the  Children's art festival "Where The Wizards Live" organised by the "Slovo" Centre (Aberdeen), Dandy Russian School with support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation. The bus will be arranged for the festival participants, and all others may come to Dandy themselves to look at the children's art. The Russian center in Scotland “Haven” is pleased to inform you that our Russian classes resume in January.
Mondays at 17:30 - beginners (elementary level). We invite all beginners January 13  at 17:30
Mondays at 18:30 - an advanced conversational group (intermediate - upper intermediate level; this group is focused on conversation, watching and discussing Russian films). Class starts January 13.
Tuesdays at 18:00 -beginners 2 (basic level). Class starts January 14.

Every Wednesday, from 19.00 to 20.00, we invite you at the Center “Haven” for an English class. Classes take place in the RCS Haven 11 Duke Street, Glasgow, G40UL

Employment opportunity for a Russian speaker
 
Part-time or full-time job.
 Software company that has won a piece of business to supply the car dealership sales tool into a large manufacturers franchise dealerships starting Feb 2014.
The role: It will be first line support and this will be receiving emails and phone calls from the dealerships should they have any issues when using the software.
The software will be used by car salespeople. 
The salary depends on experience and how the role evolves during the initial phase.

Art studio for Children
Art lessons for children are undergoing in RCS Haven.
Under supervision of experienced teachers, a professional artist and a specialist in early development, children study the basics of drawing and painting, language development and drama. All children are welcome on Thursdays from 5pm till 7pm.

The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is hosting a selection of study days to examine three pillars of Russian culture. These one-day courses will be taught by Christina Guillaumier, Head of Creative and Contextual Studies. The first of these study days in January looks at the influence of the Ballet Russes from its origins right through to twentieth century opera.

Beginning with a drinks reception at 6.30pm, the evening will be all about your experiences as Russian Londoners! At 7.30pm we'll be hearing from our members about  why they have chosen to get involved.
Next up there's a talk from Russky London member, Seva Novgordsev, the renowned Russian DJ and BBC Radio presenter. He'll be telling us about his impressions of the changing capital and his own experiences as a Russian Londoner. There'll be a chance to ask him some of your own questions after the talk! Then, we'll be holding a book signing with Russia's very first radio DJ!
